The specific problem that our project aims to address is the intersection of lupus, homelessness, and the lack of research data. We recognize that individuals facing homelessness are particularly vulnerable to the challenges of managing lupus due to barriers in accessing healthcare, maintaining consistent treatment regimens, and coping with environmental stressors. Additionally, there is a lack of research data and understanding regarding the unique needs and experiences of this population, hindering the development of targeted interventions and support services. Therefore, our project aims to address these issues by raising awareness, advocating for increased access to healthcare resources, conducting research to fill knowledge gaps, and ultimately improving outcomes for individuals navigating both lupus and homelessness.
The vision of the project is to address the complex challenges faced by individuals at the intersection of lupus, homelessness, and research data gaps, striving for equitable health outcomes and social justice for all. To achieve this vision, the project aims to create sustainable interventions that improve healthcare access, support services, awareness, policy changes, and community empowerment. By fostering collaboration, building capacity, and advocating for systemic change, the project seeks to create a more inclusive and supportive environment for vulnerable populations, ensuring that no one is left behind.
The goal is to create sustainable interventions at the intersection of lupus, homelessness, and research data gaps, ensuring improved healthcare access, support services, awareness, policy changes, and community empowerment, thereby fostering equitable health outcomes and social justice for vulnerable populations.
